- Under the supervision of the Road and Bridge Administrator, the Road and Bridge Transfer
- Station employee shall be responsible for performing all aspects of the position as assigned.
- Each employee is assigned to a different station within the Transfer Station.
Responsibilities And Duties

- It is the objective of the Road and Bridge Department that each employee in the Transfer Station,
- when fully trained, be responsible for performing the duties listed below:
- Driving Semi trucks
- Hauling trash
- Operating a back-hoe
- Packing trash
- Working in the scale house. Weigh-ins, weigh-outs, and accepting payments
- Some Transfer Station employees will only be required to pull the truck/ trailer out for other
- drivers, but not be responsible for actually driving the truck
- Other duties that management may assign
- Attendance is key to performing the job
Qualifications And Skills

Participation

- Participation in the CERF Pension Plan is mandatory for eligible employees hired on or after January 1, 2000 who work at least 1,000 hours during the year.
- Eligible part-time employees who reach 1,000 hours enroll on July 1 if they reach that mark on or before June 30, or on January 1 of the following year if they reach it later.
- Once enrolled, participants remain in CERF until they terminate county employment for more than 30 days.
Employee Contributions

- Non-LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 6% of gross salary.
- Non-LAGERS participants are also required to make a 0.7% contribution to the 401(a) plan.
- LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 4% of gross salary.
Vesting And Retirement

- Members become vested after eight years of continuous creditable service during which they receive pay for at least 1,000 hours in each year.
- A vested member is eligible for a full benefit at age 62 or an actuarially reduced benefit as early as age 55.
- If an employee leaves county service before vesting, employee contributions are refunded or may be rolled over to another eligible retirement plan.
