  • Under the supervision of the Road and Bridge Administrator, the Road and Bridge Transfer
  • Station employee shall be responsible for performing all aspects of the position as assigned.
  • Each employee is assigned to a different station within the Transfer Station.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • It is the objective of the Road and Bridge Department that each employee in the Transfer Station,
  • when fully trained, be responsible for performing the duties listed below:
  • Driving Semi trucks
  • Hauling trash
  • Operating a back-hoe
  • Packing trash
  • Working in the scale house. Weigh-ins, weigh-outs, and accepting payments
  • Some Transfer Station employees will only be required to pull the truck/ trailer out for other
  • drivers, but not be responsible for actually driving the truck
  • Other duties that management may assign
  • Attendance is key to performing the job

Qualifications And Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Computer, fax machine, copy machine, printer, telephone, calculator, etc.

Participation

  • Participation in the CERF Pension Plan is mandatory for eligible employees hired on or after January 1, 2000 who work at least 1,000 hours during the year.
  • Eligible part-time employees who reach 1,000 hours enroll on July 1 if they reach that mark on or before June 30, or on January 1 of the following year if they reach it later.
  • Once enrolled, participants remain in CERF until they terminate county employment for more than 30 days.

Employee Contributions

  • Non-LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 6% of gross salary.
  • Non-LAGERS participants are also required to make a 0.7% contribution to the 401(a) plan.
  • LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 4% of gross salary.

Vesting And Retirement

  • Members become vested after eight years of continuous creditable service during which they receive pay for at least 1,000 hours in each year.
  • A vested member is eligible for a full benefit at age 62 or an actuarially reduced benefit as early as age 55.
  • If an employee leaves county service before vesting, employee contributions are refunded or may be rolled over to another eligible retirement plan.
