Retirement Eligibility

- Normal retirement age is 60 for general employees and 55 for police officers, firefighters, and many public safety personnel.
- Early retirement is available with a reduced monthly benefit, generally between ages 55-60 for general employees and 50-55 for police or fire classifications.
- Some employers elect a Rule of 80 option for earlier retirement eligibility.
