Responsibilities And Duties

  • Develops department-wide goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Oversees the department's operations budget
  • Provides interpretation of the Taney County Development Guidance Code
  • Prepares all departmental staff reports and makes presentation at all required public hearings
  • Evaluates planning-related legislation and applicability to department projects
  • Manages and updates the Taney County Master Plan
  • Maintains and revises the zoning, land use, subdivision, environmental and floodplain regulations
  • Serves as liaison between the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment and the Taney
  • County Commission
  • Reviews Land Disturbance and storm water management applications to ensure compliance with
  • County, State and Federal regulations, bond releases and site review.
  • Coordinates with other governmental agencies when applicable, such as FEMA/SEMA; EPA,
  • Missouri Department of Natural Resources, US Army Corps of Engineers, Taney County Health
  • Department, State Health Department and Missouri Department of Transportation.

Qualifications And Skills

Participation

  • Once enrolled, participants remain in CERF until they terminate county employment for more than 30 days.

Employee Contributions

  • Non-LAGERS participants are also required to make a 0.7% contribution to the 401(a) plan.
  • LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 4% of gross salary.

Vesting And Retirement

  • Members become vested after eight years of continuous creditable service during which they receive pay for at least 1,000 hours in each year.
  • A vested member is eligible for a full benefit at age 62 or an actuarially reduced benefit as early as age 55.
  • If an employee leaves county service before vesting, employee contributions are refunded or may be rolled over to another eligible retirement plan.
