Responsibilities And Duties

  • Perform work in support of the development, implementation, and coordination for the operation
  • of a comprehensive county-wide emergency management program.
  • Represent the Emergency Management Director in his/her absence.
  • Responsible for frequent contact with associate personnel, other county departments, law
  • enforcement agencies, emergency services personnel, etc.
  • Assists in the overall management, administration, and oversight of the County Emergency
  • Management Program.
  • Prepares local, state and federal grant applications and supporting documentation to obtain local,
  • state and federal grant funding.
  • Assists in Local Emergency Planning.
  • Assists in developing media awareness bulletins.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining the County's Emergency Operations Plan.
  • Assists the County Coroner in an administrative capacity.

Qualifications And Skills

  • High School Diploma required. Three years related experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to participate in Emergency Management Performance Grant Training by taking
  • on-line courses. Must be computer proficient. Must be a self-starter with good organizational
  • skills, attention to detail and able to prioritize. In times of crisis, must be available to work at
  • any given time of the day or night.
