Job Opening Detail
Job Summary
- Assist in maintaining all real estate tax information in the Taney County Assessor's Office.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Enter real estate tax information into the computer and maintain property record card files, syncing CAMA.
- Answer real estate questions from taxpayers by phone and in person.
- Complete split tax bills.
- Assess mobile homes on personal property.
- Conduct queries on real property.
- Field work including gathering and verifying data under direction of appraisers.
- Match and enter worked building permits and photos to the correct parcel in the CAMA program.
- Assist in preparing appeals.
- Assist in the production of new property records, printing and auditing, and ensure data syncs daily.
- Perform any other duties as needed and assigned.
- Sketch structures with Apex.
Qualifications And Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of Public Land Survey System.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand legal descriptions and maps.
- Ability to traverse steep or rough terrain in all types of weather.
- 50 wpm typing.
- Survey and/or title experience.
- Strong math skills.
Conditions Of Employment
- Attendance is key in this position.
- Employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Valid driver's license.
Salary
- $16.00 per hour + Benefits
Status
- Full Time (8:00am-5:00pm).
- Monday - Friday.

Overview

Retirement
- LAGERS is county funded, vested after 5 years, and uses the Rule of 80 (years of service plus age).
- Full retirement age is 60 for most employees; Deputy Officer, Corrections, and Dispatch reach full retirement age at 55.
- CERF is county funded, vested after 8 years, with full retirement age at 62.
- CERF Savings vests after 5 years; employees may elect additional payroll deductions and receive a 50% county match up to 4% of gross pay.
Medical Insurance
- Employee core-plan premium is paid 100% by Taney County.
- Dependent medical premium is paid 50% by Taney County.
Dental Insurance
- Employee dental premium is paid 100% by Taney County.
Group Life Insurance
- Employee coverage includes $25,000 paid by Taney County under the group policy.
- Spouse coverage includes $5,000 paid by Taney County under the group policy.
- Children receive up to $2,500 of coverage depending on the child's age.
Optional Benefits
- Employees may elect Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending.
- Employees may elect Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability coverage.
- Voluntary Life Insurance is available with a guarantee amount of $200,000 for the employee and $30,000 for the spouse.
