Responsibilities And Duties

  • The right candidate is required to begin work at 3:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. This is a
  • position that requires the employee to be here on time, and to be at work every day.
  • The Assistant Supervisor will answer questions and give directives in the absence of the
  • Building and Grounds Supervisor.
  • The Assistant Supervisor will answer all calls from the Janitorial Team when they are unable to
  • be at work. The Assistant Supervisor is then responsible for making sure that the proper
  • employees are notified who will be needed to fill in for that day.
  • This position will be assigned their own cleaning duties, which will need to be completed by
  • 7:30 a.m. every day. They will clean approximately 7 offices and other areas to be assigned by
  • the Building and Grounds Supervisor, between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
  • During the spring and summer months, the Assistant Supervisor is responsible for watering
  • assigned areas beginning at 3:00 a.m. The watering needs to be completed at an early hour prior
  • to the temperature becoming too hot to water.

Qualifications And Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess excellent oral and
  • written communications skills.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to speak effectively
  • before customers or employees. Excellent Customer Service is a must.
  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must demonstrate an ability to supervise and work with
  • others in the Department and with employees in all Offices or Departments. Must be a selfstarter with good organizational skills.

  • $12.50 per hour.

Participation

Vesting And Retirement

  • Members become vested after eight years of continuous creditable service during which they receive pay for at least 1,000 hours in each year.
  • A vested member is eligible for a full benefit at age 62 or an actuarially reduced benefit as early as age 55.
  • If an employee leaves county service before vesting, employee contributions are refunded or may be rolled over to another eligible retirement plan.
