Responsibilities And Duties

- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all functions in Benefits.
- Coordinate insurance renewals with each insurance company. Sets up insurance meetings as
- needed.
- Performs Insurance Orientation for all new hires. Makes sure employees insurance applications
- are completed in a timely manner.
- Responsible for administering Workers' Compensation.
- Responsible for administering Lagers Retirement to employees.
- Responsible for overseeing post offer drug testing, random drug testing, as well as post accident
- testing.
- Coordinates any automobile accidents with insurance company.
- Registers all automobile titles and keeps accurate files.
- Performs certain Human Resources duties as need.
Qualifications And Skills

- High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess excellent oral and
- written communications skills.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to speak effectively
- with customers or employees. Must possess good phone skills. Excellent Customer Service is a
- must.
- OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be a self-starter with good organizational skills.
- Must be detailed oriented. Must be able to follow directions.

Participation

- Once enrolled, participants remain in CERF until they terminate county employment for more than 30 days.
Employee Contributions

- Non-LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 6% of gross salary.
- Non-LAGERS participants are also required to make a 0.7% contribution to the 401(a) plan.
- LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 4% of gross salary.
Vesting And Retirement

- Members become vested after eight years of continuous creditable service during which they receive pay for at least 1,000 hours in each year.
- A vested member is eligible for a full benefit at age 62 or an actuarially reduced benefit as early as age 55.
- If an employee leaves county service before vesting, employee contributions are refunded or may be rolled over to another eligible retirement plan.
