Responsibilities And Duties

  • INCLUDE
  • Reviewing reports, follow-up investigation and preparation for appropriate criminal charges ranging
  • from infractions to misdemeanors to felonies.
  • Represent the State of Missouri in any and all criminal cases that are filed in Taney County.
  • Represent the State of Missouri at formal depositions of witnesses and victims.
  • Formulate and prepare trial strategies.
  • Represent Prosecutor's Office in the community at speaking and teaching engagements.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four (4) year college.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school (3 years).
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Participation

  • Once enrolled, participants remain in CERF until they terminate county employment for more than 30 days.

Employee Contributions

  • Non-LAGERS participants are also required to make a 0.7% contribution to the 401(a) plan.
  • LAGERS participants hired on or after February 25, 2002 contribute 4% of gross salary.

Vesting And Retirement

  • Members become vested after eight years of continuous creditable service during which they receive pay for at least 1,000 hours in each year.
  • A vested member is eligible for a full benefit at age 62 or an actuarially reduced benefit as early as age 55.
  • If an employee leaves county service before vesting, employee contributions are refunded or may be rolled over to another eligible retirement plan.
