Responsibilities And Duties

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of State Statutes and Taney County Animal Control ordinances
  • Maintain awareness and understanding how to properly capture and impound strays, controllable/uncontrollable
  • animals
  • Receive animal complaints from public, in compliance to ordinances
  • Approach, capture & transport animals while ensuring the safety & well-being of animals as well as public
  • Examine health of animals and determine if veterinarian needs to be contacted
  • Administer vaccinations as needed
  • Investigate and quarantine for animal bites
  • Testify in court if required
  • Feed/water animals
  • Wash / Sanitize food and water dishes
  • Maintain a Clean work environment
  • Must be available to be on call for after hour emergencies when needed

Qualifications And Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, software and accessories
  • Knowledgeable of rules, regulations and State Statutes regarding housing and care of animals
  • Ability to keep accurate records and create detailed reports
