JOB SUMMARY:

The Field Appraiser is responsible for assessing real estate property in Taney County in accordance with
Missouri statutes and guidelines established by the Missouri State Tax Commission. This position conducts
on-site property inspections, verifies property characteristics, and collects accurate data for use in the
appraisal system.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 Conduct field inspections of residential, agricultural, and commercial real property.
 Measure structures and prepare accurate property sketches.
 Verify and update property record card data
 Identify new construction, improvements, and changes affecting value.
 Take and upload property photographs.
 Interview property owners and occupants to obtain relevant property data.
 Assist with cyclical reassessment and maintenance programs
 Defend data collection in informal hearing when necessary.
 Operate a county vehicle and field equipment safely.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
 Basic computer skills and ability to learn CAMA and GIS systems
 Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
 Professional public relations and conflict-resolution skills.
 Strong organizational and time management skills
 Ability to work independently and meet timelines.

REQUIREMENTS
 Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
 Extensive walking
 High School Diploma or GED preferred
 Valid Missouri Driver’s License
 Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen

SALARY: $17.50/ hour + Benefits

STATUS: Full Time, 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday
