TANEY COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
WEDNESDAY April 21, 2021, 6:00 P.M.
COUNTY COMMISSION HEARING ROOM
TANEY COUNTY COURT HOUSE
Call to Order
The Board of Adjustment held a meeting on April 21, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. located at the Taney
County Courthouse in the County Commission Hearing Room at 132 David Street, Forsyth,
Missouri. Chairman Trent Edwards called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Scott Starrett
established a quorum and an explanation of public hearing procedures, presentation of exhibits
and governing statutes.

Also present was Planning and Zoning Administrator, Scott Starrett and Zoning Coordinator,
Presley Cozort.
Review and Action
Mr. Roebuck moved to approve the March 17, 2021 Regular Meeting Minutes. Mr. Herd
seconded the motion. The motion passed by voice vote: Trent Edwards (aye), David Herd (aye),
Rick Caudill (aye), Cory Roebuck (aye) and Rick Persinger (absent).
Mr. Edwards swore everyone in that signed up to speak.
Public Hearings
#21-02V: Applicant Kenneth Grant was present. No one signed up to speak for or against the
application. Mr. Herd moved to approve the thirty foot front setback variance due to the structure
not being in any of his neighbor’s line of sight when pulling onto the state highway and the other
reasons the applicant listed on his application. Mr. Roebuck seconded the motion. The motion
passed by voice vote: Trent Edwards (aye), David Herd (aye), Rick Caudill (aye), Cory Roebuck
(aye) and Rick Persinger (absent).
#21-03V: Applicant James Morris was present. No one signed up to speak for or against the
application. Mr. Caudill moved to approve the three inch side setback variance due to the
narrowness of the lot and that it was not going to change the appearance of the main part of the
home. Mr. Roebuck seconded the motion. The motion passed by voice vote: Trent Edwards
(aye), David Herd (aye), Rick Caudill (aye), Cory Roebuck (aye) and Rick Persinger (absent).
#21-01A: Representative Mark Blackwell was present for applicants, Still Waters International
Ministries, Images at the Cross, Hearts Intertwined Ministries, Life’s Journey at Little Heros
Park, Ken & Bonnie Moldenhauer, Mabe & Cora Davidson and Barry & Melinda Jantz. Kerry
Brown, Roger Rekate, Mabe Davidson and Victor Jantz were present to speak for the appeal.
Curtis Rhodes was present to speak against the appeal. Mr. Herd moved to deny the appeal due
to the board not seeing an error from the Planning Commission’s original approval. Mr. Caudill
seconded the motion. The motion passed by voice vote: Trent Edwards (aye), David Herd (aye),
Rick Caudill (aye), Cory Roebuck (aye) and Rick Persinger (absent).
Old and New Business
Planning Administrator Mr. Starrett reviewed the BOA section in the Zoning Regulations under
Article 049.000 with the board.
Adjournment
Mr. Roebuck moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 p.m. Mr. Caudill seconded the motion. The
motion passed by voice vote: Trent Edwards (aye), David Herd (aye), Rick Caudill (aye), Cory
Roebuck (aye) and Rick Persinger (absent).
