Wednesday December 4, 2019: After opening responses from all of the above listed Engineering Firms
today in public, a complete review by the Taney County Road & Bridge Department, with assistance from
Purchasing, was started. An agenda request was made, and approved, to deliver formal recommendations
to the Taney County Commission on Monday December 9, 2019.
Monday December 9, 2019: In reference to the above listed RFQ, we presented to the Taney County
Commission, the below recommendation in compliance with Taney County Policy for selecting three (3)
engineering consulting services. (Purchasing Policy Manual section K, pages 8-10.) Selected Providers will
have “third party” management authority to assist the County in an ongoing “as needed / when needed”
basis for certain County engineering / architectural projects during the term.
After a thorough review of the seven (7) response packages received we identified the top 3 Firms for;
1. Extensive local experience specific to the number and scope of projects involved in
previously. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
2. Local availability. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
3. Proximity and familiarity with the area. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
4. Capacity and capability to perform the work as asked for within our RFQ, including the design
and construction of local County roads and vehicular bridges. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
Per County policy, as mentioned above, we recommended selecting HDR Engineering as Vendor source
“A”, Great River Engineering as Vendor Source “B”, and MECO Engineering as Vendor Source “C”. All
three (3) to be used as needed for the coming year. Projects may be rotated depending on specific needs
with the best pricing for the County to be negotiated between all three (3) when necessary.
After our formal recommendation - the Taney County Commission made a motion to approve as presented
and it passed unanimously. Blank Agreement forms, from each Firm, will be requested within the results
notification email. We propose an initial 12 month term with renewal options.
Thank you.
