TANEY COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING & REGULAR MEETING
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2018, 6:00 P.M.
COUNTY COMMISSION HEARING ROOM
TANEY COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Rick Caudill. A quorum w as not
established with only three members present. They were: Rick Caudill, Doug Faubion,
and Randy Fogle. Staff present: Scott Starrett and Bonita Kissee-Soutee.
Review and Action:
October 9, 2018 minutes will be voted on at the next meeting.
Public Hearing and Final Votes:
#18-29 Samuel Stauffer, proposed nightly rental located at 170 Whitetail Dr.
withdrew.
Concepts:
#18-38 Cox Investment Group proposed tiny home development for nightly,
weekly or monthly rental located at East State Highway 76 and Amherst Road. Mr.
Starrett clarified the project and presented a location map of the site. Galen Pelam was
present representing the property owner. He explained the plans. Mr. Starrett explained
that if the streets were vacated an RV park does not require interior streets. Plans are
that leases will not live there permanently. Ingress and egress will be addressed with
MoDot before the public hearing. The lots will be re-platted, or vacated. Buffering will
be addressed next to the adjacent residential subdivision. Sewer and water is available.
This project will proceed to public hearing and final vote next month.
#18-39 Terry Abbe proposed metal building sales, U-Haul Rental Business, RV
and Boat Storage, consignment sales for cars, campground and sand, gravel and dirt
sales located off Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. Mr. Starrett clarified the project and
presented a location map of the site. Mr. Abbe was present to explain his plans. He
currently has a U-Haul business across the road and wants to move it to this property.
This part of the property is out of the flood plain. There is an old campground on the
part that is in the flood plain that he might want to operate in the future but not at this
time. There is an easement for water and sewer. There will be a possible access from
Expressway Lane. There will eventually be an office on the property. This project will
proceed to public hearing and final vote next month.
Old and New Business:
Discussion followed regarding Appendix M and how it applied to the last request,
and discussion of the ingress and egress for the first request.

With no other business on the agenda for November 13, 2018 the meeting w a s
over at 6:32 p.m.
