RESPONSES RECEIVED FROM
HDR Engineering, Inc. Lee’s Summit, Missouri (Forsyth Office)
Great River Engineering, Inc. Springfield, Missouri
Wednesday October 25, 2017: After opening responses from both of the above listed
companies today – in public, a complete review was started. An agenda request was made, and
approved, to deliver formal recommendations to the Taney County Commission on Monday
October 30, 2017.
Monday October 30, 2017: The Taney County Commission met today in reference to the
above listed RFQ, to receive recommendations to comply with our recently updated Taney
County Purchasing Policy Manual, section K pages 8 – 9, for establishing engineering
consulting services on an annual basis. Designated services will have “third party” management
authority to assist the County on an ongoing as-needed basis per certain smaller projects that
may come up during the term.
Subsequent to a thorough review of both responses from the above listed companies, we note
the following factors;
1. Extensive experience of both companies, specific to the number and scope of projects
involved in previously. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
2. The local availability of both companies. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
3. Proximity and familiarity with the area for both Companies. (Complies with RSMo.
#8.289)
4. The capacity and capability of both to perform the work in question, including specialized
services. (Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
5. The detailed / structured time lines listed within both responses, in line with the RFQ.
(Complies with RSMo. #8.289)
Based on both responses, and in compliance with the Taney County Purchasing policies as
mentioned above, I recommended designating HDR Engineering as Vendor source “A”, and
GRE Engineering as Vendor Source “B” allowing both to be used as needed for the coming
year. Projects may be rotated depending on specific needs. The Taney County Commission
made a motion to award both equally and it passed unanimously. Blank agreement / contract
forms, from each company, for a 12 month period, will be requested with award results
notifications.
Thank you.
