Taney County
Chief Juvenile Officer
This position will remain posted until December 09, 2016
Salary Range: $44,352.00 probationary pay
$45,192.00 annually, following successful completion of six
month probationary period
Duties:
The Chief Juvenile Officer reports directly to the Presiding Judge and serves as senior manager of the 46th
Circuit Juvenile Office. Successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, training,
coordination, staffing and general administration of juvenile court services for the 46th Judicial Circuit.
Responsibilities also include the development, dissemination and implementation of policies and
procedures to ensure that the juvenile office complies with all state statutes and regulations, judicial
mandates and Supreme Court Rules. The candidate will have primary responsibility for the development
and implementation of training programs for all deputy juvenile officers and shall monitor and evaluate
deputy juvenile officers’ performance in court and in the field.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a ba chelor degree in psychology, criminal
justice, sociology, social work or other related behavioral service; at least three years of experience as a
juvenile officer, case management with juvenile or adult offenders or other related work including at least
one year of supervisory experience; must possess strong communication skills. Any equivalent
combination of education, training and experience will be considered. The candidate must agree to reside
in Taney County, have a valid Missouri driver license and be available for on-call responsibilities.
Additional Information:
This position is an employee of the State of Missouri and eligible for full benefits provided through the
state. Expected start date is January 1, 2017.
