The 338th Judicial Circuit
C is acceepting resumess from qualifieed individuals for the positiion of Deputy Juvenile Offiicer I or II. An n
emplooyee in this po osition is vested with the stattutory authority
y of a juvenile court officer tto take charge of children whho come within n
the juurisdiction of th
he juvenile or family court. AnA employee in i this positionn is expected tto exercise suppervision over jjuveniles undeer
the coourt’s jurisdicttion and to wo ork with a higgh degree of inndependence. General superrvision is receeived from andd work may be
reviewwed by a higheer level Juvenille Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
D
Reesponds to on-ccall or daily refferrals made by y law enforcemment agencies, schools or the Department off Social Servicces
Preepares petitions, motions, soccial and court summaries
s and
d other reports ffor all juvenilees on caseload
Scchedule pre-cou urt staffing between Departm ment of Sociall Services, juvvenile office, innterested parties, attorneys, and notifies alll
persoons involved
Reecommends and d monitors casee plans as ordeered by the Cou urt
Coonducts informaal and formal conferences
c d parents to disscuss rights of juvenile and ppossible disposiitions
wiith juvenile and
Asssists law enforrcement agenciies with investiigation and queestioning of alll alleged juvennile offenders
Asssists the Deparrtment of Sociaal Services in the
t investigatio on of physical oor sexual abusee and neglect
Maaintains workin ng relationship
p with local sch hool officials
Maakes recommen ndations to the Juvenile Courrt based on evid dence, client hhistory and statuutory requirem
ments
Woorks with the prosecutors
p or contracted
c attorneys to adjudicate contestedd cases before tthe Juvenile Coourt
Reepresents the Ju
uvenile Court system
s at schoools and commu unity meetings and makes preesentations as rrequired

Graduation from a four year colllege with a deegree in Crimin
nal Justice Adm
ministration, Crriminology, Pssychology, Socciology, or
Sociaal Work
Edducation may su
ubstitute work experience on a year for year basis.
