TANEY COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2014, 6:00 P.M.
COUNTY COMMISSION HEARING ROOM
TANEY COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Call to Order:
Chairman Steve Adams called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. A quorum was
established with six members present. They were: Steve Adams, Randy Haes, Ronnie
Melton, Mike Scofield, Doug Faubion, and Randy Fogle. Staff present: Bob Atchley and
Bonita Kissee-Soutee.
Mr. Atchley read a statement outlining the procedures for the meeting and
presented the exhibits.
Public Hearing:
Sam's Nightly Rental; a request by Matthew Sams to utilize an existing structure
for the purpose of renting out by the weekends or week located at 1264 Goodnight
Hollow Road. Mr. Atchley read the staff report, presented pictures, maps and a video of
the site. He explained this request would be permitted as special use. Mr. Faubion
asked what the proposed clientele would be. Mr. Sams stated that it would be
weekends or weekly, but in a couple of years they plan to give the property to their son
at which time it will revert to single family. After discussion Mr. Adams closed the public
hearing and informed the applicants they will be voting next week.

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2014, 6:00 P.M.
COUNTY COMMISSION HEARING ROOM
TANEY COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Call to Order:
Chairman Steve Adams called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. A quorum was
not established with only four members present. They were: Steve Adams, Ronnie
Melton, Mike Scofield, and Doug Faubion. Staff present: Bob Atchley and Bonita Kissee-
Soutee.
Mr. Adams explained that since a quorum was not present no votes could be cast
at this meeting. The Planning Commission heard the concepts.
Review and Action:
Minutes, September 2014 will be voted on at the November 17, 2014 meeting.
Final Votes:
Sam's Nightly Rental; request by Matthew Sams to utilize an existing structure
for the purpose of renting out by the weekends or week, located at 1264 Goodnight
Hollow Road. This vote will be held at the next regular Planning Commission meeting
November 17, 2014.
Concepts:
Beeler House Nightly Rental; a request by Brad Monoado to operate a nightly
rental business from an existing residential structure located at 945 Beeler Road. Mr.
Monoado explained his plans.
Thunderhead Point; a request by James A. Hagale to construct 25 cabins and
pool area for Big Cedar Resort located off Lakeshore Dr. Mr. Atchley presented maps of
the site. Eddie Wolfe of Wolfe surveying representing the developer, explained that
there are some existing cabins which will be torn down and that the old roads will be
vacated because a cul de sac must be constructed for emergency vehicles to turn
around. Mr. Wolfe stated that sewer and water is existing with adequate capacity. A
pool and amenity area is planned. Mr. Wolfe will inform the Planning Commission who
owns the two boat docks and how they are accessed at the next meeting.
T.C. Outdoors; a request by Tony W. Williams to operate nightly rental off
Juniper Lane. Mr. Atchley presented maps of the site and Mr. Williams explained his
plans. This property is located in the vicinity of the previous request at Thunderhead
Point. Plans are for a nightly rental now and in the future to use as a private residence.
Mr. Williams stated that the structure would be a three bedroom house, with it being
built on one lot and parking on the other one. A well will be drilled.
