THE APRIL ADJOURN TERM
PRELIMINARY STUDY
The County Commission met in the Commission Conference Room at 8:00 am with Ron Houseman (present),
Danny Strahan (present), and Brandon Williams (absent).
The Commission met to review the day’s business and County concerns.
FORMAL AGENDA
The County Commission met in the Commission Hearing Room at 9:08 am with Ron Houseman (present),
Danny Strahan (present), and Brandon Williams (present). The following proceedings were had and made a
matter of record:
CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Houseman called the April 21, 2014 meeting to order at 9:08 am in the Commission Hearing
Room. Auditor Rick Findley led with prayer and Commissioner Strahan led the Pledge of Allegiance.
COMMISSION REMARKS
There were no Commission Remarks.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Commissioner Williams moved to approve Accounts Payable as follows: Checks #339326 – #339398;
Warrants #5969, #5970, and #5971. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote:
Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).
APPROVAL OF PAYROLL
Commissioner Strahan moved to approve Payroll. Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The motion
passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).
MASTER GARDENERS OF THE OZARKS GRANT COMMITTEE LETTER
Commissioner Houseman presented a Letter of Permission for the Master Gardeners of the Ozarks Grant
Committee.
Commissioner Strahan moved to approve the Letter of Permission as requested by the Master Gardeners.
Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and
Williams (aye).
ESTATE DRIVE TUNNEL UPDATE AND POSSIBLE CHANGE
Road & Bridge Administrator Randy Haes came before the Commission to give an update regarding the Estate
Drive Tunnel. He stated it is under construction and the possibility of a change of elevation for the project of 5
feet, but it is in review to see if it would have an effect on the structure as it is currently engineered.
Discussion ensued regarding MoDOT’s input concerning the elevation change and the County’s potential
liability. Commissioner Strahan stated that for a matter of record he questioned the County’s liability and issues
with sewer lines and power lines.
FUNDING AGREEMENTS FOR THE CITY OF FORSYTH
John Soutee came before the Commission to present Funding Agreements for the City of Forsyth.
Commissioner Williams moved to approve the Funding Agreement between Taney County and the City of
Forsyth for the Oremus Influent Pump Station Upgrade Project. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye),
Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).
Commissioner Williams moved to approve the Funding Agreement between Taney County and the City of
Forsyth for the Lift Station H Upgrade Project. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion
passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).

BID #201403-254 RECOMMENDATION
FOR COUNTY TAX SALE
Commissioner Williams expressed his opinions concerning the websites of both papers. Commissioner Strahan
expressed his questions concerning the coverage of the eastern side of the County by one of the papers.
Commissioner Williams moved to award Bid #201403-254 to the Branson Tri-Lakes News. Commissioner
Strahan seconded the motion. The Commission allowed Collector Sheila Wyatt to present comments
concerning the County Tax Sale and how its publication costs are passed on to the customer. Commissioner
Williams stated the law states “the lowest and best”. Commissioner Williams noted that more Taney County
citizens would have an opportunity to see the Tax Sales notices than Tri-Lakes News because of their larger
distribution. He also commented that they have a website in place which gives taxpayers an additional
opportunity to view the notices. Commissioner Strahan gave comments regarding the purpose of notification by
newspapers and the use of potential buyers. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and
Williams (aye).

by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).
