Tuesday April 15, 2014: Taney County Collector Sheila Wyatt and I met on this date at 9:50 AM, in
public, at the Taney County Commission Conference Room in reference to the above listed RFB. Two Bid
Response Packages had been received. After opening responses from the above listed companies
Taney County Collector Sheila Wyatt took charge of both response packages to complete a thorough
review. She will deliver a recommendation for award to me for me to present to the Taney County
Commission on Thursday April 17, 2014. Said recommendation has previously been added to the
Commission Agenda. (Collector Wyatt is scheduled out of town on Thursday April 17.)
Thursday April 17, 2014: The Taney County Commission met in reference to the above listed RFB.
Based on information delivered to me by Sheila Wyatt - I made a recommendation to award to the low
Bidder, Taney County Times, at which point discussion occurred involving circulation. Commissioner
Brandon Williams made a request for copies of all of the support information received with the Bid
responses and a ruling was made to move the award decision to Monday April 21, 2014 to allow time for
Commissioners to review the supporting documentation. I delivered complete copies of both Bid
responses, to the Commission, as requested.
Monday April 21, 2014: Commissioners expressed concerns about making sure this legal requirement
was getting the maximum amount of exposure and that perhaps even at the higher amount the increased
exposure would be the best choice for Taney County. Commissioner Brandon Williams made a motion to
award to Branson Tri-Lakes News as the best, not lowest, choice. His motion was seconded by
Commissioner Strahan and it passed unanimously.
