BID RESPONSE FORM
BID DATE; Tuesday October 8, 2013
BID FOR; Propane
BID NUMBER; RFB# 201209-241
COSTS / PRICING PER; MFA Oil & Propane
Price per Gallon $1.59
Additional price (if any) for tanks No Charge
Additional price (if any) for deliver No Charge
Total Cost per Gallon to the County $1.59
Tuesday October 8, 2013: Despite multiple efforts to assure participation in this RFB – including email
invitations and phone calls, only one sealed response was received. After discussing options with Randy
Haes, Coordinator – Taney County Road & Bridge, before the opening – we decided to open the one
response. Said response is listed above and is .38 per gallon higher than the county is paying now.
($1.21) At this point an agenda date was requested – and granted – to make a formal recommendation to
the Taney County Commission. Said date: Tuesday October 15, 2013.
Tuesday October 15, 2013: Given the above factor combined with our assessment that the total propane
usage expense for the county during the previous 12 months indicates costs for any given 90 day period
with the same supplier – to be less than the required limit for a full Bid - we recommend that the Taney
County Commission order this RFB to be rejected. An award at this amount would not be in the best
interest of Taney County. Efforts to let this item out for Bid have been done so previously as a courtesy to
allow local propane Vendors the option of participating. Obviously there has only been limited response.
Moving forward I have advised the R&B Department that they should simply call suppliers ask for their
best price, and order what is needed at the lowest quoted price.
The Taney County Commission made a motion to reject as such and it passed unanimously.
Thank you.

Director of Purchasing
