THE APRIL ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in the Commission Hearing Room at 8:30 a.m. with Danny Strahan and Brandon
Williams present, and Ron Houseman absent. The following proceedings were had and made a matter of record:
Deputy Clerk Stacey Clemans swore in Commissioner Williams as Temporary Presiding Commissioner.
PRELIMINARY STUDY MEETING
The Commission met to review previous meeting minutes and accounts payables.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no public comment.
CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Williams called the April 29, 2013, meeting to order at 9:04 a.m.
PRAYER
Auditor Rick Findley led with prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Commissioner Strahan led the Pledge of Allegiance.
COMMISSION REMARKS
There were no Commissioner remarks at this time.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Commissioner Strahan moved to approve Accounts Payable as follows: Checks #333482 - #333540, and
#333541 - #333557, Journal Entries from the County Clerk (Elections 103) to Road & Bridge for Election
Work and from the County Clerk to Election #400 Fund for Payroll. Commissioner Williams seconded the
motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (absent), Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).
BOARD APPOINTMENTS
County Health Department
Commissioner Strahan moved to appoint Sonya Hayter and Beth Huddleston to the County Health Department
Board for a term lasting until the Municipal Election in 2014. Commissioner Williams seconded the motion.
The motion passed by vote: Houseman (absent), Strahan (aye), and Williams (aye).
Commissioner Strahan spoke about openings for two other boards: the Taney County Transportation Board and
the Planning & Zoning Board.
PROFESSIONAL APPRAISAL SERVICES
(FEMA FLOOD BUYOUT)
Purchasing Agent Ron Erickson and Planning & Zoning Administrator Bob Atchley came before the
Commission to open Bid #201304-221 for Professional Appraisal Services (FEMA Flood Buyout). The County
had received the following three responses: Cooper Appraisal, LLC from Branson West, Missouri; J. Jeschke
Appraisal from Branson, Missouri; and Jackson Appraisal Services, LLC from Hollister, Missouri. J. Jeschke
Appraisal Services sent a letter declining to submit a proposal.
Mr. Atchley will take these to review and then Mr. Erickson and Mr. Atchley will present a formal
recommendation to the Commission at a later meeting.
BID RECOMMENDATION FOR
INDEPENDENT AUDITING SERVICES
Purchasing Agent Ron Erickson and County Auditor Rick Findley came before the Commission to present a
formal recommendation for RFP #201303-215. Mr. Findley stated there were two companies from the list that
he would recommend; the first for their price and the last one due to working with them in the past and being
confident with their audits.
Commissioner Strahan moved to award RFP #201303-215 to Lisa C. Wright CPA, from Columbia, Missouri.
Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (absent), Strahan (aye),
and Williams (aye).
ROAD & BRIDGE UPDATE
Road & Bridge Members Harlan Collins and David Stottle, and Administrator Randy Haes came before the
Commission to present the following departmental update:
Parking garage: The south side of the parking garage is completed and the company is currently working on the
side that is beside the judicial parking lot.
Road Petitions: The Commission asked for this decision to be postponed until all 3 Commissioners are present.
Storm and High Water Damage: Road & Bridge are repairing ditches and roadways that were damaged due to
the recent storms and high water. Mr. Haes stated that 16 roads had been closed for a couple of days and they
have to repair the asphalt on a couple of the roads. None of the County maintained bridges are showing
damage.
Bid openings: Bids for all of the road materials, 2 tandem trucks, and a spray vehicle are scheduled to be
opened this week.
Birmingham: Crews were pulled from the Birmingham project due to repairing county roadways that were
damaged by high water. The crews will get started back on Birmingham this week as long as the weather holds.

due to both issues being addressed during the first Executive Session.
