Wednesday May 1, 2013: The Taney County Road & Bridge Coordinator - with assistance from me - opened
responses from seven (7) different Vendors for ten (10) different trucks - in response to the above listed RFB. An
agenda request was then made to deliver a recommendation after review - to the Taney County Commission.
Eventually Thursday May 16, 2013 was set for said recommendation.
Thursday May 16, 2013: Subsequent to a thorough review by Randy Haes with Road & Bridge, of all the detailed
pricing offered, - in great detail - Mr. Haes recommended awarding per the attached Bid Tab to: Jenkins Diesel of
Springfield, Mo. The Taney County Commission made a motion to award as such and it passed unanimously. Please
see attached full Bid Tab. (Prepared by: Kathy Roberts, Taney County Road & Bridge Office Manager.)

Re; Tandem axle dump trucks
To; Taney County Commission
Dear Sirs,
We have received ten bids on dump trucks from seven different vendors. Base price ranging
from $137,950.00 to $156,000.00 with optional extended warranty costs. I have reviewed all of
these bids and will recommend the Western Star 4700 PRL-T truck from Jenkins Diesel Power
Center at a cost of $142,791.00 each, total for two trucks $285,582.00 dollars. This vehicle is not
the lowest cost with extended warranties; it is I think the best option for Taney County Road &
Bridge. The lowest cost vehicle is Southwest Truck with the Volvo model truck and I have talked
with the majority of vendors about their trucks and optional warranties. The transmission in the
Volvo truck is a different transmission than is in the specifications and is not recommend in certain
applications.
