Thursday December 27, 2012: The Taney County Commission met in reference to the above listed RFB. After
opening responses from the above listed companies, Mr. Paul Black, P.E. with Hood-Rich, Inc. who is overseeing this
project, assisted in reviewing all three information packages. The Commission asked if we were able to make a
recommendation. Subsequent to our review of all the detailed pricing offered as well as the timing committed by each
response, a recommendation to award was made as follows;
Mid-Continental Restoration of: Ft. Scott, Kansas - Low Bidder.
The Taney County Commission made a motion to award as such and it passed unanimously.
Monday February 4, 2013: Given the fact that all required contracts and other legal documents had not yet been
completed - work on this “Part One” has not yet started. Mr. Paul Black was asked to contact Mid-Continental to
confirm whether or not they might still be interested especially given the fact that MTS Contracting has submitted a Bid
on “Part Two” which is significantly lower than all other responses for that project. In a very professional manner Mid
Continental has asked to be allowed to withdraw which was communicated to the Commission and they agreed. Later
Mr. Paul Black also contacted Carson-Mitchell as the next lowest Bidder to see if they were interested in “Part One”.
They also have asked to be allowed to withdraw for the same professional reasons, that of having one Vendor for both
projects. Both requests are supported in writing.
Monday February 25, 2013: In lieu o f the above described circumstances MTS Contracting, Inc. of: Springfield,
Missouri was recommended for award of “Part One” via this Bid. The Taney County Commission made a motion to
award as such and it passed unanimously.
Thank you.
