Houseman, D anny Strahan, and Jim Strafuss present. The following proceedings w ere had and

UPCOMING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Com m issioner Strafuss com mented that Brenda Neal is checking into w hether the State will
close its offices for D ecem ber 24, 2012. This item will be reposted for a future meeting.
2013 PRIORITIES FOR THE BRANSON/LAKES AREA
LEGISLATIVE PARTNERSHIP
Com m issioner Strafuss discussed 2012 Priorities that they w ould like to use again for 2013 are:

20 12 Legislative Priorities
• W e strongly believe that Tourism is a net revenue generator for the State o f M issouri.
W e support the full funding o f the M issouri D ivision o f Tourism, and their marketing
budget.
• W e oppose the repeal o f the incom e tax and its replacem ent w ith a state sales tax (Fair
Tax).
• W e propose legislation specific to our area on P & Z that w ould relieve the repetitious,
expensive, continuous ballots on planning and zoning in Stone County. This w ould be
accom plished by increasing signatures by a percentage at each election and/or having the
initiators pay the cost o f elections after the 2nd election in one year.

COUNTY BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Com m issioner Strafuss inform ed the Com m ission that a position had opened on the Taney
County H ealth D epartm ent’s Board due to a resignation. C om m issioner Strafuss m oved to
appoint D ella Russell to fill the unexpired term. C om m issioner Strahan seconded the motion.
The m otion carried by vote: Housem an (aye), Strahan (aye), and Strafuss (aye).
D iscussion ensued regarding other County A ppointed Boards. Com m issioner H ousem an stated
that the term s for the Library Board needed to be corrected. It w as decided that the appointments
for the Library Board w ould be posted for a future meeting and the appointm ents for the other
boards will happen as term s expire.
POLI-SUB DISCUSSION
Com m issioner H ousem an gave an update on the m eeting he attended w ith the Poli-subs that may
have levy issues on ballots for the 2013 election calendar. The Tourism D istrict has about 2
years before that issue will have to be on the ballot. The Library D istrict w ould like to be on the
April 2013 Ballot. D ave W oolery and Tammy H agler will have a presentation on N ovem ber 26,
2012, for the 911 Board. W ith that said no clear recom m endation cam e from the m eeting except
the Library D istrict has already submitted their request. The U se tax could be delayed and the
Tourism D istrict will wait. A Fire D istrict Tax and some School Taxes may be on the April
2013 Ballot.
MANAGED PRINT SERVICES
Purchasing A gent R on Erickson and M ark Rys, w ith the IS Departm ent, cam e before the
Com m ission to discuss the M anaged Print Services. Mr. Rys said it w ould cost about
$217,000.00 to replace 139 machines. Mr. Erickson explained that in certain departments one
large m achine w ould work, but in other departments it needed to replace m achine for m achine at
each desk or w ork area.
Com m issioner Housem an spoke about purchasing through the A EPA and then contract the
m aintenance for all o f the machines. The purchase w ould come out o f the Capitol Im provem ent
Line.
Mr. Rys com mented that local vendors will only w ork w ith certain m achines such as the
Kyocera. C om m issioner Strafuss directed Mr. Rys to bring back a list o f m achines that are
priority for replacement.
