Thursday July 19, 2012: The Taney County Commission met in reference to the above listed RFB. After
opening responses from the above listed companies a motion was made to allow a time for a thorough
review of both information packages as received from each by Taney County Collector Sheila Wyatt. The
Commission requested that after said review a recommendation be made.
Subsequent to a thorough review of all the detailed pricing offered, Sheila Wyatt recommended Ozark
Mailing Services, LLC. to be awarded. This recommendation, in our opinion, is governed by the rule of
finding what is best for the county, not always the lowest.
A few calls to the other Vendor to resolve uncertainty in their pricing responses, for a few specific
mailings, resulted in different pricing from their original Bid Response which added to the uncertainty.
Overall the more firm average pricing offered by Ozark Mailing Services, combined with numerous local
references, and our opinion that their system could end up costing less – with less risk, resulted in
selecting them for recommendation. As the Director of Purchasing I agreed with this recommendation
which we submitted to the Taney County Commission. A motion was made to award as such and it
passed unanimously.
