THE JANUARY ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in the Commission Hearing Room at 8:32 a.m. with Ron
Houseman, Danny Strahan and Jim Strafuss present. The following proceedings were had and
made a matter of record:
PRELIMINARY STUDY
The County Commission met to review previous meeting minutes and accounts payable.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no public comment.
CALL TO ORDER
Presiding Commissioner Houseman called the March 19, 2012 meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
PRAYER
Auditor Rick Findley led the prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Commissioner Strahan led the Pledge of Allegiance.
PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Commissioner Strafuss moved to approve previous meeting minutes with corrections and
changes dated March 9 and March 12, 2012. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The
motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye) and Strafuss (aye).
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/JOURNAL ENTRIES/TRANSFERS
Commissioner Strafuss moved to approve accounts payable, journal entries and transfers as
follows. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman
(aye), Strahan (aye) and Strafuss (aye).
HOUSING FIRST SCATTERED–SITE (HFSS) SUPPORT LETTER
Alan Catron CEO of Christian Associates went before the commission to request a support letter
for a HFSS Grant application for funding to assist Taney County Citizens. Commissioner
Houseman read the support letter. Commissioner Strafuss moved to approve the Housing First
Scattered-Site support letter. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed
by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye) and Strafuss (aye).
Mr. Catron stated twenty families had previously come in for assistance and additional families
from Taney County had come in this week as the Red Cross was no longer giving assistance to
the County.
BRANSON CENTENNIAL RESOLUTION
Commissioner Houseman read the Branson Centennial Day Resolution. Commissioner Strafuss
moved to approve the Branson Centennial Day Resolution. Commissioner Strahan seconded the
motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye) and Strafuss (aye).
AGENDA REQUESTS REVIEW
The Commission met with Nikki Lawrence to review agenda request.
SUMMER BOE PLANNING WORK SESSION
Clerk Donna Neeley, Deputy Clerk Cristy Smith and Assessor James Strahan went before the
Commission to discuss Summer BOE scheduling. James Strahan stated Missouri Statute
138.090 state the first meeting was to be on July 1. The Commission agreed and discussion
ensued. Hours were set at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except Monday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 1st
through the 12th, July 19th, 20th and 31st. An application cut-off date was determined to be July
2nd at 5 p.m. The Assessor reiterated the BOE had no authority over commercial property this
year. Commissioner Houseman requested a letter be drafted with legal counsel referring to
supporting statues concerning commercial property. The Commission directed Ms. Neeley send
out a tentative schedule to BOE members.

Commissioner Strafuss moved to go into Executive Session pursuant to RSMo 610.021(1), (2),
(3) and (12). Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed by roll call vote:
Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye), and Strafuss (aye).
