OFFICIAL MINUTES
JUNE 16, 2011, 28th DAY OF
THE APRIL ADJOURNED TERM

The County Commission met in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 11:00 am with Ron
Houseman, Jim Strafuss and Danny Strahan present. The following proceedings were had and
made a matter of record:

BUDGET REVIEW

County Auditor Rick Findley addressed the Commission for a preliminary meeting. The
Commission stated that they would like a brief report at a future date of all County revenues,
sales, revenue trends, and any potential changes as Branson city officials were concerned with a
reduction in tourism. Discussion ensued.

The Commission discussed meetings they had held with other first class counties. They were
surprised how successful the counties were using less funding. Elected officials worked with the
purchasing department and Human Resources. The Commission wanted to make sure each
department was in compliance with the law, and wanted to bring departments together.
Commissioner Strafuss stated that Legal Counsel had identified areas of concern, and that
utilizing Human Resources would free up elected official’s time.

Commissioner Houseman wanted to meet with County officials to get input, and to better
evaluate programs that are being considered.

The Commission had agreed in January 2011 to discuss the budget again in June 2011 to see
where elected officials were financially. Commissioner Houseman would like to see the
Commission develop a 3 year minimum financial plan. Commissioner Houseman asked if
anyone would like to discuss the rehiring of employees.
