OFFICIAL MINUTES
May 12, 2011, 16th DAY OF
THE APRIL ADJOURNED TERM

The County Commission met in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 8:30 am with Ron
Houseman, Jim Strafuss and Danny Strahan present. The following proceedings were had and
made a matter of record:

ROAD & BRIDGES UPDATE – OVERFLOW FROM TUESDAY

The Commission and Randy Haes discussed the department priority list, including: drainage
issues on Clevenger Cove and Cope Lane; a Forsyth school bus route on a road needing a
hammerhead or cul-de-sac; the cattle guard at the old cheese plant; and the list of roads needing
chip and seal during the season.

EXECUTIVE SESSION – PERSONNEL PER SECTION 610.021 (3) & (12)

Commissioner Strafuss moved to go into Executive Session pursuant to RSMo 610.021 (3).
Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed by roll call vote: Houseman
(aye), Strafuss (aye) and Strahan (aye).

Commissioner Strahan moved to go out of Executive Session. Commissioner Strafuss seconded
the motion. The motion passed by roll call vote: Houseman (aye), Strafuss (aye) and Strahan

BID AWARDS – JANITORIAL SUPPLIES, ROAD MATERIALS, NEWSPAPER
SERVICES & COUNTY TAX SALE
Purchasing Agent Linda Gifford presented the tabulation for the road materials bid to the
Commission.

The Commission directed Linda Gifford and Randy Haes to create letters of explanation
outlining the reasoning for their bid award recommendations. Commissioner Strafuss stated that
the road materials bid award would be reposted for the following Thursday to allow for further
review.

Linda presented the janitorial supplies bid tabulation to the Commission.

Commissioner Strafuss moved to accept Pippin Wholesale as primary supplier for janitorial
supplies, with Springfield Paper Company as secondary, as presented and recommended.
Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye),
Strahan (aye) and Strafuss (aye).

Linda presented the County tax sale bid tabulation to the Commission.

Commissioner Strafuss moved to award the Taney County tax sale bid to the Taney County
Times at a price of $3.95 per column inch. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The
motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye) and Strafuss (aye).

Linda presented the newspaper services bid to the Commission.

The Commission agreed to postpone and repost the newspaper services bid award to the
following Thursday.

AGENDA REQUESTS REVIEW

Commissioner Strafuss moved to postpone to a definite time, specifically 4:00pm, with the
possibility of a conference call, the agenda request review discussion. Commissioner Strahan
seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Houseman (aye), Strahan (aye) and Strafuss
(aye).
