OFFICIAL MINUTES
FEBRUARY 22, 2010, 23rd DAY OF
THE JANUARY ADJOURN TERM

The County Commission met in The Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 9:00 AM with,
Chuck Pennel, Jim Strafuss present and Danny Strahan absent. The following
proceedings were had and made a matter of record:

Helen Soutee opened the meeting with prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Strafuss moved to approve minutes for 2/16, & 2/17/10. Commissioner
Pennel seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote Pennel (aye), Strahan (absent),
and Strafuss (aye).

APPROVAL OF ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Commissioner Pennel moved to approve accounts payable except for check # 318524 as
follows:

Checks: 318519 - 318993

Warrants: none

Commissioner Strafuss seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote Pennel (aye),
Strahan (absent), and Strafuss (aye).

APPROVAL OF JOURNAL ENTRIES

Commissioner Strafuss moved to approve Journal Entries. Commissioner Pennel
seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote Pennel (aye), Strahan (absent), and
Strafuss (aye).

PUBLIC COMMENT

Pat Dooley spoke on the Senior Tax levy.

James Strahan encouraged all taxpayers to send in the personal property assessment
forms due 3/1/10 to avoid penalty.

MEADOW LANE
Commissioner Strafuss moved table consideration of Meadow Lane until 3/1/10.
Commissioner Pennel seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote Pennel (aye),
Strahan (absent), and Strafuss (aye).

STATE AUDIT

Bob Schanz spoke about having a state audit by the State Auditor.

The Commission directed Rick to contact the State Auditor and determine an estimated
price for a State Audit of Taney County.

Presiding Commissioner Pennel declared a recess.

STAFF DEPARTMENTAL MEETING – ROAD & BRIDGE

The Commission directed Frank Preston to fix the collapsed culvert at the animal control
facility since it is county property leased to the Health Department.

MECHANIC’S FLAT – LABOR DISTRIBUTION

The Commission agreed with Frank’s evaluation of 2 years labor used at Mechanics Flat
and directed the Auditors office to distribute the labor on both mechanics at 75% to GCR
and 25% to Road and Bridge.

BLUE RIDGE ROAD

The Commission decided to postpone this issue until they can take a field trip to the site
and Frank Preston will verify the grade on this road.
