OFFICIAL MINUTES
JANUARY 28, 2010, 13th DAY OF
THE JANUARY ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in The Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 9:00AM with,
Chuck Pennel, Jim Strafuss, and Danny Strahan present. The following proceedings were
had and made a matter of record:
VERIFICATION OF PARK BOARD MEMBERS
Commissioner Strafuss moved to appoint Darlene Cole to a 3-year term to the park
board. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Pennel
(aye), Strafuss (aye), and Strahan (aye).
ADMINISTRATIVE & DEPARTMENTAL FUNCTIONS
RELAY FOR LIFE FUNDRAISER
The Commission was in agreement that they would allow the Relay for Life Fundraiser
function to be held in the Jury Room of the Judicial Center.
NO OPEN FLAMES POLICY
The commission made a policy of no open flames allowed in any of the county buildings.
HORIZON HILLS HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING
Commissioner Strafuss report that none of the Horizon Hills Hold Harmless Agreements
have been signed.
TRAINING REIMBURSEMENTS FOR JUDGES
MAPACJ judge reimbursement for training – needs research as to whether the county is
going to pay these types of items in the future, but will put this bill back into the accounts
payable for approval.
EGIS INVOICE REVIEW
EGIS invoice being held for another week for a work session to review contract and work
completed.
VERIZON CELLULAR CONTRACT
Commissioner Strafuss presented a new Verizon government contract which will save
$130 per month over the current contract.
Commissioner Pennel moved to approve Commissioner Strafuss recommendation of the
new Verizon government contract excluding the push to talk feature pending bob’s
review and approval of the contract including the cancel at anytime clause.
Commissioner Strafuss seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Pennel (aye),
Strafuss (aye), and Strahan (aye).
Commissioner Pennel left the meeting at 9:30 AM, but rejoined by teleconference.
POSTAGE MACHINE
Gary Morgan will gather usage volumes and reschedule a meeting on postage machine.
Presiding Commissioner Pennel declared a recess.
