OFFICIAL MINUTES
November 17, 2009, 24th DAY OF
THE OCTOBER ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in The Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 9:09AM with,
Chuck Pennel, Jim Strafuss and Danny Strahan present. The following proceedings were
had and made a matter of record:
ADMINISTRATIVE & DEPARTMENTAL FUNCTIONS
HEALTH INSURANCE
The Commission discussed the status of the Health Insurance options and is going to
invite the insurance people to come back for an additional discussion.
SMOKE FREE TANEY COUNTY
Jim Berry, Kara Miller and Robert Niezgoda representing the Taney County Health
Department visited the Commissioners on the topic of Smoke Free Taney County.
Kara Miller talked about the programs to help prevent and stop smoking in Taney
County. The Commission discussed different steps to discourage smoking on the County
Campus.
Presiding Commissioner Pennel declared a recess.

CORPS OF ENGINEERS – VARIOUS ROADS
The Commissioners teleconferenced with the Corps of Engineers on discussion of road
access to lakes and restrictive barriers to keep vehicles on the roads. The Corps agreed to
drop the verbiage out of the proposed agreement concerning the construction of restricted
barriers and will send a new proposed agreement to the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Pennel declared a recess.
