OFFICIAL MINUTES
October 22, 2009, 11th DAY OF
THE OCTOBER ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in The Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 12:00 Noon with,
Chuck Pennel present, and Jim Strafuss present via teleconference, and Danny Strahan
absent. The following proceedings were had and made a matter of record:
BUSINESS RESOLUTION
Commissioner Strafuss moved to give the New Shanghai Theatre the business resolution
as prepared by Bob Paulson, County Counselor. Commissioner Pennel seconded the
motion. The motion passed by vote: Pennel (aye), Strafuss (aye) and Strahan (absent).
SICK POLICY
Commissioner Strafuss moved to table the Sick Policy until 3:00 PM today.
Commissioner Pennel seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Pennel (aye),
Strafuss (aye) and Strahan (absent).
Presiding Commissioner Pennel declared a recess.
RECESS
12:10 PM
RECONVENED
3:13 PM
The Commission reconvened with Commissioner Pennel present and Commissioner
Strafuss present via teleconference. Commissioner Strahan was absent.
SICK POLICY
Commissioner Strafuss reported that we have to go back and see if we can legally do
what we are trying to do. County Counselor found out that we can’t transfer dollars –
need to transfer hours. There is a constitutional issue of doing 50% of hours. Bob Paulson
is redrafting what we can and cannot do. The Commission will have to set another
meeting date – probably next Monday to review the new language.
Presiding Commissioner Pennel declared a recess.
