OFFICIAL MINUTES
October 16, 2009, 8th DAY OF
THE OCTOBER ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in The Commissioner’s Hearing Room at 8:30 am with,
Chuck Pennel and Jim Strafuss present, Danny Strahan absent. The following
proceedings were had and made a matter of record:
Agenda Review
Jim Strafuss motioned to accept the Agenda as presented. Chuck Pennel seconded the
motion. The motion passed by vote: Pennel (aye), Strafuss (aye) and Strahan (absent).
2010 Budget Meeting postponed until next week.
Recess 8:35
Reconvened 8:45
Office Space for Census Bureau
Jim Strafuss reported that persons working on the 2010 census would need a minimum of
one desk and two chairs. Jim Strafuss moved to accept the application for the needed
space for US Census Bureau and allow them to use Jimmie Russell’s old office in the
Courthouse, or the Taney County Airport or both. Chuck Pennel seconded the motion.
The motion passed by vote: Pennel (aye), Strafuss (aye) and Strahan (absent).
Recessed 8:45 am until 10:00 am.
Reconvened 10:00am
Crisis Shelter Funding
Helen Soutee reviewed RSMo. # 455 and #488 covering the fees collected by the
Recorder in the issuing of Marriage Licenses and the requirements in distributing those
funds. Helen stated that the Crisis Center of Taney County was the only application for
the funds in 2009. Jim Strafuss moved to award the Crisis Center of Taney County the
funding allowed pursuant to RSMo. 455. Chuck Pennel Seconded the motion. The
motion passed by vote: Pennel (aye), Strafuss (aye) and Strahan (absent).
Recessed until Monday morning.
