OFFICIAL MINUTES
MARCH 9, 2009, 33rd DAY OF
THE JANUARY ADJOURN TERM
The County Commission met in the Commissioners Hearing Room at 9:00 AM with
Chuck Pennel and Danny Strahan present and Jim Strafuss was absent (At a meeting in
Washington DC). The following proceedings were had and made a matter of record.
Prayer led by Chuck Pennel.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Walter Riggan asked about Round Mountain Road/Bull Creek Bridge status.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Commissioner Strahan moved to approve the following Accounts payable:
Checks: 308741 – 308849
Warrants: 4980 - 4982
Commissioner Pennel seconded the motion. The motion was approved by vote Strahan
(aye) and Pennel (aye) and Strafuss (absent).
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Pennel moved to approve the minutes for March 2, and March 4, 2009.
Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion was approved by vote Strahan
(aye) and Pennel (aye) and Strafuss (absent).
GROUND WATER AWARENESS WEEK
Mike Cole, Taney County Sewer District promoted checking of private wells for
contamination by ground water. Mr. Cole Requested the Commission to waive the charge
of $10.00 for sample testing for this week. John Soutee requested that we waive the fee
for a month for drinking water analysis.
Commissioner Pennel moved to waive the fee for the drinking water analysis for the
month of March. Commissioner Strahan seconded the motion. The motion was approved
by vote Strahan (aye) and Pennel (aye) and Strafuss (absent).
DONNA NEELEY – RECORDS DISPOSITION
Commissioner Pennel directed that the record show that the disposition of records list as
requested by Donna Neeley, County Clerk, be entered into the records as follows:

PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OPEN HOUSE
Alissha Woody discussed the open house in the Prosecutor’s Office coming up this
Friday and invited citizens to come.

Commissioners present: Chuck Pennel. Danny Strahan present via teleconference and
Jim Strafuss absent.
Also present were Bob Paulson, Larry Cline, Susan Riggs, John Soutee and John Hooker.
ROCKAWAY BEACH SEWER PROJECT
Commissioner Strahan moved to approve Rockaway Beach’s Sprenkle & Associates bid
up to the amount in Rockaway Beach’s Sewer Sales Tax fund contingent upon the sewer
board approval of the dollar amount for the increase over the original $149,000. The new
total is $231,012.00. Commissioner Pennel seconded the motion. . The motion was
approved by vote Strahan (aye) and Pennel (aye) and Strafuss (absent).
PALMERTON AND PARRISH CORE DRILLING
Commissioner Pennel moved to approve Palmerton and Parrish to do core drilling on the
Ozark Beach Sewer project as approved by the sewer board for $23,000. Commissioner
Strahan seconded the motion. The motion was approved by vote Strahan (aye) and Pennel
(aye) and Strafuss (absent).
